JACOB & KARLY RABER

Ministry Description

Two years after we felt God's calling into long-term missions, we moved to Bangkok, Thailand, attended language school, and started building relationships. After spending time processing our long-term location, we felt led to move to Pattaya, Thailand. During our first six months, we plugged into different ministries and sought clarity for what God has for us in Pattaya. In the spring of 2018, we received clarity from the Lord to start a non-profit organization called 58:12 Thailand; a branch from the 58:12 in Holmes County, Ohio. This foundation would include Children's Alternative Care homes for short and long-term children who have been abandoned, abused, or trafficked. Our foundations heart is to rebuild and restore families by working with local sectors to build a care plan for each child and unite together to work hard towards reunification with their families. These homes will provide different care needs as well as Biblical values, understanding of identity, and self worth. We are also praying about starting a Community Center that will provide classes and teachings on life skills for families, Biblical knowledge, after school programs, summer activities for kids, and different events that will help bring the community together.

The Raber's Story

Hello! We are the Raber family that is currently serving long-term missions in Pattaya, Thailand. Jacob and I (Karly) Raber have been married for five years and have three handsome young boys McKinley, Nehemiah, and Solomon. We have been serving in Thailand since 2016 and have truly enjoyed sharing God's truth and love with the locals. Jacob and I met in missions years ago at a YWAM DTS school. After falling in love, getting married, and having our first son, we felt the pull back into missions. We didn't know what God had planned, but we knew it was better than our plans and with that we could put our confidence and trust in him through that step of faith.

When God led us to Thailand as a family, many people didn't understand how we could do this with such young children, but we trusted that God had a plan. With God's clarity, we now understand that we are here as a family to model out what a Christ-filled home looks like. It is a great opportunity for us to connect with other families in Pattaya since we are a family of our own. We feel so blessed that God has asked us to take on this mission with him. It's been a wild, busy, exciting, and rewarding journey and we are looking forward to seeing what all God will do here in Thailand and within our family.
